This week we are looking at Create and Implement a Playbook.

An investment playbook is your investment plan. It is your roadmap. It is your guide. It is your decision tool. It is your journal. It is your daily results. It is your key tool in understanding yourself and your investment strategy.

This is important because you want to be able to tell what is working for you and where you are messing up. There are only about 10 MAJOR investment mistakes. If you could simply eliminate those mistakes, you would be way ahead. The playbook helps you to determine whether-or-not you are making those mistakes.

The playbook also encompasses your investment routine and how you did in implementing said routine. It has all your rules for buying, selling, position sizing, timelines, etc. The playbook helps you to identify the ‘perfect’ opportunities while forgoing the not so perfect trades.

The playbook is simply your investment process and the results of the process. If one can be honest with themselves and keep a playbook, they will most certainly become a great investor.
